Just wanted to share a touching e-mail I received from someone who has seen Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price, and has since said "NO" to Wal-Mart:
Mr. Robert Greenwald,
I just wanted to tell you the impact your movie has made on my life. I watched the "Wal-Mart, The High Cost of Low Price" movie a few months ago and have not shopped at Wal-Mart since. My husband and I have two young daughters, age three and one. Wal-Mart was always a convenient and inexpensive way to provide food, clothing, diapers, etc., for my family. However, after watched the film and recovering from the ultimate "shock" it put my conscience through, I have find it impossible to give this company any more of my hard earned money. Even though my husband and I bring home only $30,000 per year, I am now glad to pay a little extra to shop at their competition.
Still to this day, I can see the face of the young woman working in a sweat shop who said "next time you shop at Wal-Mart and buy an inexpensive piece of clothing..... remember me". Well, I do. I remember and will never forget. I suffer everyday with the rising cost of medical care, gasoline, property taxes, insurance and more. My family nearly borders what the American Government calls "low-income families". We are only hundreds of dollars away from qualifying for government assistance. Even with the struggles I face in my life, the "Wal-Mart, Always Low Prices" will not get me back into that parking lot.
I was amazed at Wal-Mart's complete disregard for the environment; the health and welfare of others, especially their employees; their discrimination against women and African Americans; the lengths they will go to lie to the consumer; and overall their greed. I can only hope that when that are called, the are judged harshly.
The movie was "eye-opening". I didn't know what was going on. As a consumer, I now have the responsibility to decide not to give my money to Wal-Mart. If only every consumer could make the same responsible decision and force Wal-Mart to change or into ruin.
Thank you for showing me the truth and please continue to fight against this horrible company. I know I have told everyone I know about what I saw in your movie and have highly recommended they see it.
Sincerely,
One individual consumer who has said "NO" to Wal-Mart

I was a Wal-Mart Addict. I saw your film about 9 months ago and haven't stepped foot inside a Wal-Mart since. I have done research on my own as well since that time and retell what I've found. I am writing about this subject in my English class as an Arguementative Essay and hope to keep a few more people from shopping at Wal-Mart. From my own experience, since I now shop at Kroger for groceries I spend less each week because I am not tempted to buy unnecessary items. I am trying to use your movie website as a source, it would be great if someone could e-mail me the date the last time the site was updated. To reply to wallife: get a grip!! You won't have a job forever, when Wal-Mart has driven down your community so far that noone makes enough money to shop at Wal-Mart or anywhere else. Nearly every item Wal-Mart sells comes from foreign sources and pays little themselves, both driving down the middle and lower classes. However, by your comment, I have to assume that it's pointless to speak to you since rational communication is obviously not your forte.
the shit you people portray about walmart is pathetic. i do agree that people that work at the stores get treated like shit.I work at one of their food distribution centers and i get treated good.the people that you hear about is the individuals who give walmart a bad name dumb ass people I HAVE JOB SECURITY HOW MANY OF YOU CAN SAY THAT.FUCK THE SMALL TOWN MERCHANT HE DOESNT PAY MY BILLS!!!!!!! WALMART DOES!!!
I was very upset after watching the Walmart movie. I worked for the Target Stores for 11 years and experienced the same working conditons. Target has forced so many employees out to replace them with lower wage individuals. I worked in the Loss prevention field and the overnight merchandise flow team. As a manager, I was forced to change the scores on reviews, cover up a serious health violation that is still going on till this day and watch out for and terminate potential union voters. Please, when you stop shopping at Walmart include Target as well.
